4-2 Objectives

Objectives:
• Show how to assemble parts together.

• Provide a complete parts list.

• Provide designer’s information on subassemblies.

• Show how to dissemble the machine.

4-3 Information required

• Provide view(s) of the assembly showing at least some portion of


every different part used in the assembly.

•Each different part drawn must be identified once only and


unambiguously by a reference number.

•Ensure device is assembled correctly using notes or additional


drawings.

•Use notes or dimensions to indicate special assembly


requirements.

• List all parts with adequate descriptions.

• It is often possible to show assembly with a single view.

• Use sections extensively.

• Use correct sectioning procedures to distinguish adjacent parts.

• Identify each part by a number within a 10 mm circle and leader line.

• Do not cross leaders.

• Arrange and number circles in an orderly fashion.

• Dimension only for assembly purpose, not for manufacture.

• Parts list must be included above title block. Parts listed upwards. Details to be shown:
Item no., description, quantity required per assembly, material or detail drawing no.
