SHEEHAN OUTGAINS MAHAN BY 2-TO-1 MARGIN IN OCTOBER
Surging Support During Campaigns Final Stages Illustrates the Call for New Leadership COLONIE Town of Colonie Supervisor candidate Denise Sheehan today showed a massive advantage in campaign support in her most recent Board of Elections financial disclosure filings. In the latest disclosure report, Sheehan is outpacing incumbent Supervisor Paula Mahan by nearly a twoto-one margin in both money raised and number of individuals contributing to her campaign. I greatly appreciate the show of support from the people of Colonie, especially in this critical time as we get closer to Election Day. Its a tangible sign that residents recognize the need for better, more responsive leadership in Town Hall, Sheehan said. Voters are hearing our message, they are getting information thats been kept secret by the current Administration and they are agreeing with our plan for a better Colonie. This positive news shows grassroots campaign support, and unlike my opponent, we didnt need funding from businesses vying for town contracts during an open bid process. In the 11-day pre-election report filed with the State Board of Elections, Sheehan reported contributions of $14,466 from 51 individuals. In contrast, Mahan reported $7,789 from 24 individuals. In overall contributions, Sheehan outpaced Mahan $20,571 to $10,289. People want and deserve a Supervisor who includes them in the process and is honest about the financial condition of our town, Sheehan said. Theyve had enough of the back-room deals, passthe-buck politics and fuzzy math with their tax dollars. Im proud of the job weve done on this campaign giving Colonie residents an opportunity to vote for a better future. ###
