    Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Control of the emergency powers of Collector or Inspector) Rules, 2001

    (G.O.Ms.No.148, Rural Development (C-4), dated 31st May, 2001) In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 203 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994) and in supersession of the Rules relating to the emergency powers of Collector and Inspector, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following Rules :RULES 1. Short title.These Rules may be called the Tamil Nadu Panchayats

    (Control of the Emergency Powers of Collector or Inspector) Rules. 2001. 2. Definition.- In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, Act means the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994). 3. Intimation after exercise of emergency powers.- Collector or the Inspector, shall, after exercise of the powers conferred by Section 203 of the Act, be reported forthwith to the Director of Rural Development with the reasons in full, for the exercise of such powers and a copy of the report shall, at the same time, be sent to the Panchayat for information.
