The Lost child is one of the best story by the Mulk Raj Anand. The
writer tells us about the child psychology. It shows the working
mind of chlild lost in a village fair. It shows the great love of a child
for his mother and father. He is attracted by different kind of
things. A village child goes to see the Basant fair in company of
his parents. He is attracted by different kind of things.
He wants to have everything like sweets, flowers, balloons, to ride
on round about etc. By chance he happened to be separated from
his parents. The kind man lifted him up in the arms and takes him
to different shops but all in vain. Now he has no interest in
anything. Those very things which were full of beauty and
attraction only a few minutes earlier were no value at all. Now
Child want his parents back.

Tyrant- cruel .Tender- soft. Disgust- hatred. Straying-wondering.
Tributary- branching off. Mirage- something that is not to easy to
trace. Dense- thick . High pitched- of a loud sound
Weird- strange. Delight-joy. Mingled- mixed.
Bustling about- moving about.
Irresistibly- without opposing. Miniature- small.
Repelled-disgusted. Amazement- surprise.
Anticipated- participated. Fierce- angry. Wailed- wept and cried.
