After reading your advertisement for the position of Lab Technician at

the Commuting Students Lounge, I knew I had to contact you
immediately. I am very excited about becoming an asset to the
laboratory, as I offer exactly the qualities that you seek for this
position.

I am confident that my strong information technology skills,

considerable experience with computer hardware, software and
networks, supported by collaboration with my colleagues, will improve
the operational effectiveness of the computer laboratory at the
Commuting Students Lounge. During the almost three years as a Lab
Technician at A.Z. Preston Hall’s computer laboratory, I have developed
all the skills required for this position. I possess direct experience with:

 troubleshooting computer errors and resolving operating system

issues
 configuring computers on a network and resolving hardware
problems
 helping others to use software such as the Microsoft Office suite
 working as part of a team to attain the laboratory’s objectives
 working for varying time periods
