[Nic - First slide] Welcome everyone to todays Keynote Presentation on the issue forged from the 2010 Logies

Night twitter abuse that was dished out by two comedians by the names of Wil Anderson and Catherine Denvey. Lachlan Mitchell and myself, Nic Easton will be presenting it for you this morning.

[Lochie - Second Slide] Firstly, for those of you that dont know, Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service, owned and operated by Twitter Inc., that enables its users to send and read other user messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page.

[Nic - Third Slide] To explain how twitter can be abused, you must understand that there are about 65 million tweets are posted each day, equalling about 750 tweets sent each second, and it is impossible each one to be administrated by person.

[Lochie - Fourth Slide] This event has been propelled into the Media spotlight as extremely offensive issue and henceforth, been at the forefront of public outcry.

[Nic - Fifth Slide]

[Lochie - Sixth Slide] Unfortunately the public and media gave the two comedians, Anderson and Denvey, what they wanted; attention. This could have been easily avoided by not putting this report to air and subsequently putting a stop to the publicity received by the comedians.

[Nic - Seventh Slide] Although it is seemingly impossible, if twitter had a sensory filter on the outgoing tweets then this whole issue may never have arisen. The media also could have stopped this attention and publicity that the comedians received by not providing such an excessive news report and propelling this event into the publics view.

[Lochie - Eighth Slide]
