Belize City Council Convention

The Peoples United Party is pleased to announce that its mayoral candidate and ten city councilors, who will represent the Party for the Belize City Council municipal election in March 2012, were duly elected during a delegate convention held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Marys Parish Hall in Belize City. At the close of the polls, party delegates cast their votes and of the two candidates vying for the Mayoral seat, Karen Bodden received the majority vote. Among the candidates vying for the ten councilor positions, Swamy Babani topped the polls, and the rest of the team is made up by Alberto Vellos, Peter Lacey, Patrick Thompson, Lennox Young Gary Ayuso ; Edward Young, Erwin X; Dorla Vaughan and Robert Cadle. The Peoples United Party thanks all those candidates who offered themselves for consideration and all those delegates of the Party who participated in this exercise of representative democracy. We are confident that Karen Bodden and her team will win the hearts and minds of Belize City residents during their campaign and will ably serve Belize City as its next Mayor and Council.
