PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE

I am checking e-mail right now.


I check e-mail every morning.
What is the difference between these two sentences ?

Use the present simple tense form ( v1 ) to talk about routine activities and how often we do things.

I check e-mail every day. You get up late. We love chocolate. My sons walk to school. We have a car.

He checks e-mail every day. She gets up late. Jack loves chocolate. My son walks to school. He has a car. Jack does homework every evening. She doesnt love you.

Jack and Jim do homework every evening.


They dont love you.

My daughters watch TV every night.

My daughter watches TV every night.

Rules for adding -s / -es


1. Verbs that end in -o --> add -es go --> goes do --> does

2. Verbs that end in -s -z x -ch -sh -> add-es


kiss kisses watch watches box boxes wash washes

3. Verbs that end with a consonant plus y --> change -y to -i , then add -es Verbs that end with a vowel plus y --> add -s study studies play plays cry cries enjoy enjoys 4. Other Verbs

--> add -s
