Ivy-Thyme Complex is a soothing tincture that will help those suffering from many respiratory conditions associated with a cough. Generally, most coughs are caused by a bacterial or viral infection in the lungs, which if not treated can lead to acute bronchitis. This complex can act as an anti-irritant for sufferers of chronic coughs, which can be the result of several lung related diseases, such as emphysema, bronchitis and bronchiectasis. The complex contains ivy which is a herb that acts as a natural expectorant, encouraging the loosening and elimination of mucus and catarrh in the respiratory tract. Ivy also helps to prevent and relieve when suffering from a coughing fit, due to its antispasmodic properties. The thyme oil in the complex has an antiseptic action; as the oils are eliminated from the body the airways are disinfected, easing the spasms in the bronchial tract and loosening and thinning the mucus. This tincture also contains liquorice which is not only delicious tasting but has medicinal properties. Directions for use: Adults; 15 drops in a little water, 2 to 3 times daily. Children; 2-12 years old 1 drop per year of age in a little water, 2 to 3 times a day. Children with deep coughs should be referred to their GP.
