2012 Apocalypse: The End or the Beginning of the End

There are many articles on the 2012 phenomena (eg, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon) but looking just at the numbers alone and their significance, and the co-incidence with the Winter equinox (21st Dec 21/12) there are some interesting patterns.

1)

A time/date to watch is:

@20:12 on 20/12 in 2012

The Winter equinox (shortest day) is 21st Dec but the night is considered to preceed the day, eg, Christmas Night is not the night starting at sunset on the 25th Dec, but that starting at sunset on 24th Dec hence Christmas Eve. By the same principle, the night of the shortest day actually starts at sunset on the 20th Dec on at sunset on 21st Dec. Taking the 2012 number one step further from 20/12 2012, we might assume that there is some significance in the time 20:12 since this is after sunset and is part of the night of the shortest day of 2012. In UTC the actual Winter equinox occurs at 11:11 on 21/12/2012 so perhaps more numerological significance. Note that the 20th century starts with 1901, so 21st century starts with 2001 although some say (incorrectly) it starts with the new millennium 2000. So 2012 is not the 20th century (2000 years) but actually the 21st century (2100 years includes the zeroth century years 0-99 or 1-100). So perhaps 2012 holds the significance is does because in numbers it is the 21st century (starting at 2001), ie, 2012 = 12th year in 21st century denote 21st21. This ties in with the 21+12 pattern of the Winter solstice on 21/12 in the year 2012 (21st12). So perhaps we should watch what happens on the following time/date:

@21:12 on 21/12 in 2012 (21st12)

In numerological terms, adding the 2s and 1s, ie, 21:12 21/12 21st12 = 3 3 3 3 3 3 = 33 33 33 = 6 6 6 = 18 = 9 (see below).

2)

Another time/date to watch will be:

@21:12 on 21/12 in 2112

Just taking the numbers themselves (rather than 21st century), this looks more numerologically palindromic. The 2s and 1s add up to 3, or when taken as pairs add up to 33, or when each pair is summed adds up to 6, ie, 21:12 21/12 2112 = 3 3 3 3 3 3 = 33 33 33 = 6 6 6 = 18 = 9.
