THE SEVEN TRUMPETS REV. 8:2

ISBN 978-976-8204-60-8

FOREWORD
he information given here is not meant to be an exhaustive study of the seven trumpets nor of the nation of Turkey. This brief study is reflective of the deep convictions made upon the mind of the writer by the unfolding of the Prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation in the solemn events taking place in our world today. If having read this study, you are aroused to search Gods word and pay keen attention to the signs of the times, then this book would have achieved its purpose.

THE SEVEN TRUMPETS

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. It is clear from this text that the trumpet is a symbol of war. Jeremiah 4:19, 20; Joel 2:1-11

OVERVIEW
These trumpets deal with the wars, commotions and political upheavals which resulted in the break-up and downfall of the Roman Empire as described in Rev. Ch 8-11. The first four trumpets deal with the downfall of Western Rome, the fifth (5th) and sixth (6th) with the downfall of Eastern Rome under the onslaught of the armies of the Prophet Mohammed and those under the leadership of the Ottoman Empire. The seventh trumpet signaled the complete downfall of the Roman Empire and in a broader sense the Kingdoms of this world.

SUMMARY OF EVENTS UNDER EACH TRUMPET

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all the green grass was burnt up. Rev 8:7 This text describes the invasion of Eastern Rome in AD410 by the Gothic Armies under Alaric. For more details see Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith (p 476). And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood. And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. Rev 8: 8, 9 These Prophetic texts describe the invasions and conquests of the Vandals under Genseric in AD 428. Invasions of Africa and later on Italy were mainly by sea. Genseric and his forces in one night near Carthage destroyed by fire and sword more than half the Roman fleet consisting of 1,113 ships and 100,000 men. N.B. The frequent reference to the Third Part in these texts in Revelation is due to the fact that after the death of Constantine the Great, the Roman Empire was divided up into 3 parts by his children Constants, Constantine 2 and Constantius. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp and it fell upon the fountains of waters. And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Rev 8: 10, 11
These texts describe in AD 451 the invasions and conquests of ATTILA the HUN. His methods of warfare included pillaging by fire and sword. He was referred to as the Scourge of God and his conquest and plunder hastened the fall of the Roman Empire.
