On the File menu -> Source Control submenu, there is a command 'Add Selected Projects to Source Control'. This is missing from the obvious place it where it should be, i.e. the context menu for project nodes in Solution Explorer. In fact the context menu for projects still includes 'Add Solution to Source Control', which is inappropriate.

The solution that you presented is very similiar to a couple of options that we considered during the design of the feature. In the end, we opted for the approach that is implemented because it is more discoverable and easier for people to use. W hen adding content to source control, we also recommend adding the solution--not the individual projects--as it can cause problems in the future if the project is branched or if another projected is later added to the solution that shares files with the original project. If the solution is checked in, rather than the project, then these issues are mitigated. W hile we were not able to make this particular change, we value your opinion and suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with the feedback. Mark Colburn Sr. Program Manager Visual Studio
