He has founded and currently serves on the boards of several non-profit, community-based organizations which serve to : Promote and Develop Young Entrepreneurs, Establish Schools offering Quality Primary & Secondary Education, Enhance Government and Public Relations, and Offer Business and Legal Advisory Services to members. He has spoken extensively on entrepreneurship and its social and economic contributions to society. Mr. Kothari has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. He has spent over 40 years in the MENA region

He possesses over two decades of experience in investments in the Hydrocarbon Sector in the region. The group businesses have ranged from engineering and construction, trading of petroleum products, upstream oil and gas (E&P) and oilfield services. His contributions as a founder and the CFO of Kuwait Energy (formerly Zahra Oil and Gas), a successful E&P Company, during its initial phases led to considerable value addition and helped it to become a successful venture. His core competencies are his ability to build and lead quality teams, his knowledge of the hydrocarbon industry, his extensive network of contacts and his ability to link financial investors/ institutions with investment opportunities, both conventional and Islamic.

Mr. Husain Kothari is the Deputy Chairman & CEO of the Zahra Group Holding Company. The Zahra Group, established in 1985, is a Kuwait based integrated group of companies with businesses in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. A successful serial entrepreneur, Mr Kothari has been one of the co-founder of the group and his operating companies. His focus areas are New Ventures, Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning. He is a passionate adherent of the value-investing school of thought and philosophy which reflects in the group businesses and its investments.
