This is a 28-day schedule for 6 patrolmen (9 patrolmen is ideal), which will provide 24-hour coverage for majority of the

time, but no less than 20 hours. This really depends on how much vacation, sick and training time used. This is a bi-weekly schedule, providing 80 hours per pay period. When an officer is out for a few days (training or vacation) the relief officer will be moved to cover that shift. At which time, you may only have 20 hr coverage. When an officer is sick, the Aft. or Relief (or both) will be moved up a shift to cover the vacant shift. Ex: if the day car is sick, the aft. car is moved to cover the day shift and the night car is moved to cover the aft shift. If the Aft car is sick just simply call the night car in early. If overtime is available, best to cover with that. The hours for each is shift is: o Day 7am 5pm o Afternoon 5pm 3am o Night 9pm 7am Each officer will work no more than 6 days Each officer will have a 6-day pass every 4 weeks (28 days). If you receive more manpower, I recommend adding the first guy to the night shift, the day shift, then the afternoon shift.
