Modelling with Expert Systems

Students can select a topic from the following list. Do bear in mind
that if a student copies from another student, both students will
forfeit their marks.

Some of the topics are quite comprehensive; in such a case [as the
first topic], do not try to build an expert system for all plants or
animals, but select a meaningful example. The expert system can
be built in Afrikaans.

1. Key for the identification of animals/plants.

2. Identification of diseases by means of symptoms [Example;
diabetes).
3. Spelling rule for words ending in –l and adding a suffix.
4. Identification of sonnet types. This topic can also be done in
Afrikaans.
5. Gebruik van die verlede deelwoord in Afrikaans.
6. Identification of polygons.
7. Identification of different types of lever.
8. Identification of different types of machine.
9. Weather forecasting based on given variables.
10. Identification of precious stones.
11. Identification of semi-precious stones.
12. The use of or, either … or, neither … nor and not … but and of
with, together … with, like, including and as well as in English
grammar.
13. Using a cadential second inversion in harmonic progression.
