1. Objective
1.1. To investigate on how op-amp works. 1.2. To design an op-amp circuit that give out output 10V.

2. Backgrounds Knowledge
An operational amplifier (op-amp) is a DC coupled high-gain electronic voltage amplifier with a differential input and output. It can convert the input voltage to more high voltage at the output. Op-amp is the most important devices that must be used in electronic circuit. They were using in linear, nonlinear and frequency dependent circuits. In fact, the characteristic of the final op-amp circuits with negative feedback are set by external components with little dependence on temperature changes and manufacturing variations in the op-amp itself. Op-amp is widely used in vast array of consumer, industrial, and scientific devices. Opamp is also one type of differential amplifier besides the fully differential amplifier, instrumentation amplifier, isolation amplifier and negative feedback amplifier.

5. Procedure
i. Experiment set up according to the circuit diagram. ii. Using the DC power supply, attach the output of the DC power supply to the Vin- pin of the op-amp. iii. Adjust the voltage and current of the DC power supply according to the calculation to meet the condition Vout: 10V. iv. Switch on the power supply. v. Observe the voltage at the Vout pin of the op-amp using the multi meter whether it meet the desired output.

6. Analysis and Discussion

In this experiment, we were set up an inverting amplifier. The formula are shown as

Vout = -Vin (Rf/Rin)

We were using 10k resistor as the Rf and 1k resistor as Rin. From the calculation to acquire 10V at the Output, we supply 1V at the Vin pin.

7. Conclusion
Base on this Vout = -Vin (Rf/Rin) , the Op-amp LM741 was amplified the voltage amplitude to the ratio 1:10.
