Betrayal happened like this: Had 1 BB and 8 Strike cruisers. Companies 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 were deploying against a planet, moon, and orbital station at once. Planet wasn't safe to use DP's. Thunder Hawks were being deployed. Companies 2, 7-9 and much of 10 had huge amounts of betrayers. Captain of Company 2 was the recruitment trainers, so many scouts were theirs. Plan was to allow the SR's to deploy, take them out by taking over BB's guns (Comp. 2) and have the strike cruisers move in on the BB. Chaplain heard word of it passed down, grabbed man from Comp. 2, tortured him til he broke, killed him. Chaplain found out far too late, but was able to stop the 1st company from deploying. All were destroyed, along with most T Hawks. Most chapters have a maximum of three battle barges and about ten strike cruisers. This would be superfluous to requirements in most cases. You'll generally get enough ships in one place to deploy the number of troops required, plus a small escort. A battle barge will have at least a large squadron of frigates as escort - and if you're sending such a large ship, might as well bung in a cruiser or two as well.
