235 years ago, the third president of the U.S.A, Thomas Jefferson, drafted the declaration of independence on July 4th, 1776.

Many years ago, USA was a suburb of Great Britain but the thirteen colonies did a political American revolution and cause the war of the independence as a response to the Britain oppression.

Annually, the independence day is celebrated in the USA on July 4th and is often known as the fourth of July. This day many events are organized throughout the United States and many people display the American flag on their homes.

Very few people have to work on Independence Day, Its a day of family celebrations with picnics and barbecues and many activities associated with the day include watermelon or hotdog eating competitions and sporting events like basketball matches or tug-of-war games.

This they is a very special holiday, therefore, some years when July 4th is a Saturday, its celebrated on Fridays, if July 4th is a Sunday, its celebrated on Monday and this day the government offices and schools are closed like some businesses.
