Northern Israel Revolts


King Rehoboam did not listen to the people, who asked him to lighten the yoke of Solomon put on them.When King Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labour, all Israel stoned him to death. King Rehoboam then hurriedly mounted his chariot to flee to Jerusalem. So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.When all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was no one who followed the house of David, except the tribe of Judah alone.

The reign of King Rehoboam of Judah

Rehoboam reigned in Judah. Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. Rehoboam died, Abijam (his son) succeeded him.

Elijah on Mount Carmel


Elijah was asked by the Lord to present himself to Ahab. The famine was severe in Samaria. Ahab and

Obadiah went through the land in different directions. Obadiah met Elijah.Elijah asked him to tell Ahab "Elijah is here". Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him; and Ahab went to meet Elijah. They summoned all the Iraelites at Mount Carmel. Elijah said: "How long will you go limping with two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him". The prophets of Baal called their god's name from morning until noon, but he didn't answer. Elijah called the Lord, and he answered by the fire. Elijah seized the prophets of Baal brought them down to the Wadi Kishon, and killed them there. Ahab rode off Mount Carmel, and went to Jezreel.

Elijah at Mount Sinai


Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done. Jezebel threaten Elijah. Elijah went into the wilderness to meet the Lord. The Lord asked him to return to the wilderness of Damascus, to anoint Hazael as king over Aram, to anoint Jehu as king over Israel, and to anoint Elisha as prophet in Elijah's place. Elisha set out and followed Elijah, and became his servant.

Elijah and Namaan


Naaman was the commander of the army of the king of Aram. Lord had given victory to Aram by him.He suffered from leprosy.
