Award Schemes CREST Award CREST is Britains largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). It gives young people opportunities to explore real world projects in an exciting way. CREST links closely to the curriculum and is a great way to make STEM creative and engaging both in and out of the class. CREST Awards are extremely flexible they can link into work experience placements, after-schools clubs or several linked schemes. Some projects might be done in one day others over several months. Students can investigate or design and make, research a subject, or design a science communication project. Projects must show a creative or innovative approach, enhancing their understanding of the scientific or technological process with a thorough and conscientious report linked to real word concepts. YEB Award The prestigious Young Engineer for Britain competition highlights the innovation, enterprise and skill of our future workforce. It provides both a regional and national showcase for the best creative projects within engineering, technology and design from UK. Young Engineer for Britain encourages students, both as individuals or in a team, to use their imagination to create, design, develop and manufacture an original idea for a commercially viable device or system that could be an everyday task, a social need or a brilliant innovation. Entries must identify need/opportunity and the solution shows market viability. NSEC All projects (CREST and Young Engineers) will be judged for the NSEC with the top ten projects over all receiving a bursary to attend The Big Bang Fair National Science and Engineering Competition in London 2011.
