YEAR 11 MOCK EXAM

December 2011
CSI: MIAMI

BIG FISH PRODUCTIONS

Dear Aspiring Producer Big Fish productions is a production company looking to develop and produce a new TV Crime Drama. We are looking for suggestions from aspiring producers as to new ideas that will work in an already well established genre. TV Crime Dramas are now one of the most popular TV genres. At their most basic these shows are simply about the solving of crime but we understand that their conventions are much more complex than this. We are also interested in why these shows are so popular with audiences and what their universal appeal is. The show we are looking to develop must present a positive portrayal of a modern British po;ice force and avoid the criticism of current shows that they present negative stereotypes of minority groups or are too male driven. A successful show must rely on a clearly dened structure so that audiences have a clear idea of what the show is about. One way of doing this is through a carefully constructed title sequence. In order to for your idea to be considered, we have a series of tasks that we would like you to complete. Best of Luck J Smith, CEO Big Fish Productions.
