WHY THEY PREFER A NON-IT JOB AND A CAREER IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR?

Manufacturing sector contributes to about 1/4th of our countrys GDP. India's vast domestic market and availability of low-cost workers with advanced technical skills has been a major factor in attracting a number of multinationals who are setting up their manufacturing base in the country. I prefer a career in manufacturing rather than a career in an IT industry because career in manufacturing gives us more stability. Though I am not very particular about pay, I wish to give a comparison in terms of pay. Initially, pay in IT industry is very attractive, but in the long run there is not much scope for improvement. I, being from a background of BBA, prefer a career in Non-IT industry. Another reason is the fall in Rupee value which is of major concern. Most of the IT companies are MNCs which shows that there is higher risk for the employee to lose the jobs. IT is a service industry. Services are provided based on the product. A product comes through manufacturing. Without manufacturing, there is no service industry. Hence, I prefer a career in manufacturing rather than in IT industry.
