Materials:

magic wand for each student

1. Students form into a circle. The teacher is the magician and will stand in the center of the circle. 2. Teacher will need to point her magic wand to a student and says the target vocabulary. 3. The student will sit and the students on either side must contest to say the right answer. 4. The first to say the vocab correctly wins, while the second is out. 5. The circle gets smaller and smaller and the last student will be declared winner. Examples and Variations: Opposites: Teacher points to student A and says YES. Student A will sit down and students on either side of student A, point to each other with their magic wand and say NO! Adjectives: Point to a student and say TREE. Students on either side say GREEN! or TALL Parts of Speech: Point to a student and say JUMP. Students on either side say VERB!
