After teaching a number of items or expressions, challenge your students to read your lips!

Mouth the item or phrase and let the students try to guess what you 'said'. Materials: sets of cardboards with printed phrases Instruction: 1. Divide kids into teams. 2. Teacher will pick a card and call the kids in front of the line for the beginning of the relay. 3. With the teachers back on the other kids she will read the phrase from the card BUT without a sound. The kids will look at the phrase and demonstrate reading without a sound to the teacher so she can check if theyre doing it correctly. 4. After the teacher corrected them, the students must pass the phrase to the next student and the next student must lip read the message and pass it on the next one by the same process.
