County Councillor Barrie Durkin Says. Stop this lunacy now and say NO to Wind Turbines. Following yesterdays catastrophic wind turbine fire in Scotland, and the over whelming public campaign against the building of such unwelcome monsters on Anglesey. Cllr Barrie Durkin is calling on the Anglesey County Council to stop considering all Planning Applications for Wind Turbines, until they have a proper justifiable Policy, before Anglesey is totally rapped of its natural beauty and it tourist industry is in tatters. Cllr Durkin says. Wind turbines are a disaster waiting to happen, add nothing to the economy to the Island, create carbon footprints and are undermining the wellbeing of our people. With the amount of Planning Applications coming forward, the whole of Anglesey could become just one big giant Wind Turbine Farm, with very little, if any benefit to the Island at all and must be stopped before it is too late.
