This document summarizes the research process of two students for their National History Day project on the topic of television then and now. They initially considered researching the germ theory but decided television was a better fit after turning one on. They conducted research online and interviewed one of the student's grandmother, born in 1924, to learn about televisions over time. They selected a website format because it was familiar to both students. Their topic fits the NHD theme of revolution, reaction, and reform by showing the revolutionary changes in television technology from bulky radios to modern smart TVs and how this impacted public behavior.

Why we chose this topic When we Iirst started we knew we wanted to do a website so we started with the germ theory. That didn`t suit us so we thought about it and as we did the television turned on so we thought about doing the topic and as we did it was the best choice we made. How we conducted our research First we got online and researched topics and we got television thru the years .Then we Iound websites and took notes on those resources .AIter doing that we learned that we needed much more inIormation.so I asked my grandma about what were some oI the televisions she has seen since she was born 1924.Which helped us a lot more than the internet. How we selected are category and how we created it We both thought about what we are good at and how we can make the project and we decide to do a website because it is Iamiliar to both oI so it will help us make the project easier on us.
How does our topic deal with the NHD Theme Our topic I television then and now it relates to the theme because the revolution is Irom radios to big bulky with antennas to thin touch screen or even 3d televisions. Our reaction was the more television the more happy or lazy the general public got and the reIorm is the television will never stop changing with new technology coming around every day. (263word)
