ABSTRACT This proposal provides a comprehensive analysis of the Interactive Pageant System for Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo. The proponents first explore the existing system that was being used. The proponents chose this proposed system to be able to aid the system of the school. The proponents developed the capability to generate a scoring system for the judges. Based on the findings, the proponents recommend that the university must use this proposed system for easily tabulating the scores of the candidates. While the analysis and recommendations presented in this proposal are aimed at the Our Lady of Fatima University - Antipolo, building the Interactive Pageant System can use presented here to improve the existing system.

A.

Background of the Study

A beauty pageant or beauty contest is the competition among boys and girls on the physical beauty of its contestants, and often incorporating personality, talent demonstration, and question responses as judged criteria. It is something that is considered as a public entertainment in which people dress contemporary costumes or historical costumes. Also the candidates are judged on the criteria of makeup, hairstyles, clothing or gowns and personal interviews. For the adults, there are the titles like Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth and Most Handsome Men in the World. As the same, for teens, there are the titles such as Miss Teen, Little Miss, and so forth. Based on the different categories the candidates are awarded with tiaras or crown, big amount of money or scholarships. Everybody has the right to vocalize their own opinion... Me personally I think that everybody deserves equal rights; it's really as simple as that. (Kristen Dalton, 2009) There is no way to judge a beauty pageant objectively, since beauty is by definition indefinable and immeasurable. (Lakoff & Scherr, 1984) Beauty Pageants are held ethnically and national specific or

multicultural such as Miss USA, Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Black America, and Miss Indian America. These kinds of Pageants help them and their nation to promote their race, culture, and their lifestyle.

Some pageants are associated with some NGO and other charitable trusts. Thus, they are helping to raise money for the disaster relief funds, orphans fund or handicapped fund. In retrospect, beauty pageant not only showcases personal beauty, but also helps to develop personality, co-operation, leadership, confidence and good bonhomie relation among contestants. At every level, pageants are a process of selection and representation, of making highly public choices that emphasize some kind of collective identity. As such they are always arenas for the definition of locality, for inclusion and exclusion. But when this local choice is then exhibited on a wider stage, as part of a hierarchical structure, the pageant becomes much more than this. It is forced into a discussion, implicit or explicit, of the relationship between the local and the regional, national and international. To wrap up, the idea of beauty pageant is not bad at all. The concept Beauty Pageant is just for to showcase physical beauty should be relinquished. It is nothing but stubborn. The reason behind 'beauty pageant is not only for to showcase physical beauty,' is that it provides lots of significance such as to demonstrate talents, leadership and represent respective nations virtue.

Rationale

The purpose of Interactive Pageant System for Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo is to develop and promote todays women. The proponents mission is to inspire or continue the importance of commitment to family life and the joys of individual achievements. Fundamental beliefs like faith and morality are values that judges and

audiences are looking to fulfill while producing a high quality pageant experience in any way of possible. C. Objectives of the Study General Objectives The study aims to develop an Interactive Pageant System for the beauty pageant of Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo. The proponents design a system that would assure user satisfaction the system provides. It will be more effective and accurate as will goes. Specific Objectives To be able to generate a scoring system for the judges. To ease up the burden of the judges in computing candidates scores. To determine the proposed software could be another effective alternative for the existing system of Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo. D. Scope and Delimitation The scope of this study aims to develop an Interactive Pageant System for Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo. It will cover only the scoring system for the judges. The Interactive Pageant System for Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo will cover also the following: The system will show the personal data of the contestants.

 It displays the criteria, ranking, rules and regulations and the scores of the contestants.

The delimitation of the proposed system might be owned and operated only by Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo. In case, if the system will function better, it will be access by the other Universities. The proposed system cannot search multiple candidates ID number. E. Significance of the Study Economical. The significance of this study is to help the candidates gain confidence, poise, public speaking skills and better ways to carry it; to help progress and to develop new technologies or innovations. Technical. The significance of this study is to dedicate this in the field of information technology through creating new innovations and ideas that can rely on making a well develop system. The proposed system can be improved and customized to develop a more advance system. And lastly, the system can be helpful to those people who are studying computer related courses. Educational. The significance of this study is to lead the students to explore new ideas, and provide new knowledge to make a system related to computer studies. Social. The significance of this study is to help us to become more independent about the things that we need to know. It helps us to develop our skills in creating a system and to enhance our knowledge in doing a system. And lastly, to dedicate this study for the next batch of students whos going to take this kind of study.
