Press Release December 11, 2011

On Saturday December 10, 2011 at approximately noon, Dolores N. Dober, age 28, was driving a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus southbound on Joslyn School Road in the Town of Westerlo with her 6 year old son, Aaron. Delores took her eyes off the road for a moment and began to cross over the center line. When she looked up she noticed a pickup truck coming toward her. She swerved to avoid hitting the truck, overcorrected, and went off the east side of the road. The vehicle continued down a steep embankment into a wooded area and rolled onto the roof. Dober was unable to get out of the vehicle. Her son knew her cell phone was in her pocketbook. He took the pocketbook and crawled out of the vehicle through the rear. He then climbed up the steep, snow covered embankment and called 911 for help. Several witnesses stopped to help as well. Berne and Westerlo FD's responded and were able to extradite Dober from the vehicle. Dober was transported by Helderberg Ambulance to the Albany Medical Center with apparent minor injuries. Wright was transported by Westerlo Rescue to the Albany Medical Center with apparent minor injuries. Hats off to Aaron!!!
