Module II: Wireline Broadband Access Network xDSL: working and types, CAP and DMT, DSLAM (ATM& IP configuration) deployment of xDSL, ADSL modems and business case . Cable Modem: Cable network, HFC Network, Coaxial cable band of operation, architecture, DOCSIS and IP, Different types of Modems, Installation, block diagram of Residential Cable Modem Module III: Wireless Broadband Why wireless BB, classification of Wireless BB, (WPAN, WLAN, WMAN & WWAN.) Bluetooth: Bluetooth architecture & application, Piconet, scatternet, Bluetooth protocol and its structure, Base band links,. WiFi: uniqueness, datarates, Ranges, transmission types and modulation schemes, physical configuration,802.11 protocol. Deployment policy. Hotspots WiMAX: physical topology, 802.16 standard, technical specifications and standard, OFDMA working, block diagram of OFDM system, Reception of OFDM performance tradeoff with 3G. MMDS: Typical MMDS system, constrains of MMDS systems & LMDS: PTP, PMP systems, services offered by LMDS Module IV: ATM & Frame Relay ATM definition, ATM connection, ATM cell, Multiplexing, ATM adaption layers (AAL1.
