Mr. Matthew Newell Geist Watershed Alliance 230 Breakwater Drive Fishers, IN 46037 Subject: Rough Order of Magnitude for Professional Services

Dear Mr. Newell: As requested, I am providing a Rough Order of Magnitude to provide professional services for the Geist Watershed Alliance. This estimate is based on a site visit conducted on December 9, 2011, to address sediment and nutrient problems that you are experiencing in the lake. This estimate is for all three sites. If more than one site is selected and initiated at the same time; fees for permitting and design would be discounted. Each site includes one (1) stream restoration project as well as one (1) demonstration site upstream to implement Low Impact Development (LID) practices. The demonstration site will include a bioretention facility and vegetated swales to convey run-off into the facility. Sites will be recommended by Cardno JFNew based on a field survey and desktop review. Pricing assumes utilizing a Design/Build approach. Breakwater/Sandstone Creek Bioretention and Bioswales (assumes 5,000 SF facility and 250 LF of swales) Bioretention cell will include a drainage layer with underdrains, amended soils, mulch, plants (1 gallon container @ 3 O.C.), trees, shrubs and an overflow and/or emergency spillway. Swale construction will utilize existing drainage swales and will involve the removal of turfgrass and reseeding with a native swale seed mix. Design & Permitting: $ 13,500.00 Construction: $ 75,000.00 ($15/SF)

Streambank Stabilization (assumes 1000 LF) Streams will be designed to restore and stabilize banks and increase aquatic habitat. Designs will incorporate various stabilization techniques such as, grading, stone toe protection, bioengineering (stakes, coir logs, fascines, etc.), seeding and blanketing. In-stream structures (riffles, cross vanes, etc.) will also be incorporated to control flows and increase habitat. Design & Permitting: $ 15,000.00 Construction: $ 100,000.00 ($100/LF) Forest Knoll Bioretention and Bioswales (assumes 2,500 SF facility and 250 LF of swales) Bioretention cell will include a drainage layer with underdrains, amended soils, mulch, plants (1 gallon container @ 3 O.C.), trees, shrubs and an overflow and/or emergency spillway. Swale construction will utilize existing drainage swales and will involve the removal of turfgrass and reseeding with a native swale seed mix. Design & Permitting: $ 12,000.00 Construction: $ 42,500.00 ($17/SF) Streambank Stabilization (assumes 700 LF) Streams will be designed to restore and stabilize banks and increase aquatic habitat. Design & Permitting: $ 12,000.00 Construction: $ 70,000.00 ($100/LF) Thorpe Creek Bioretention and Bioswales (assumes 7,500 SF facility and 250 LF of swales) Bioretention cell will include a drainage layer with underdrains, amended soils, mulch, plants (1 gallon container @ 3 O.C.), trees, shrubs and an overflow and/or emergency spillway.
