TEN OF THE TOP FACTS ABOUT ARPE AND THE INTERWORK INSTITUTE 1.

ARPE has graduated more than 1400 students over the past 35 years (including on-campus and distance students). 2. Interworks Center for Distance Learning served over 2000 students in more than 100 course offerings this year. 3. ARPE started the Concentration in Community College/Postsecondary Education Leadership as part of SDSUs first independent doctoral program (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (currently working on recruitment for Cohort #6). 4. ARPEs Rehabilitation Counseling Program ranks #9 in the nation according to US News & World Reports Americas Best Graduate Schools 2012 Guide and has been in the top ten for at least 8 years. 5. ARPE designed the Specialization in Leadership in Student Affairs as part of the MA in Education/Postsecondary Educational Leadership, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs; faculty and graduate students have been instrumental in establishing national standards for the profession. 6. Nine ARPE have received the prestigious Monty Award, as either faculty or alumni. 7. ARPEs Dr. Nan Zhang Hampton was awarded a Research Fulbright Scholarship this year to conduct research in China, investigating the career paths of women with disabilities in leadership roles. 8. ARPEs Dr. Marilee Bresciani was awarded a Pillar of the Profession award this year by NASPA (Students Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) 9. Almost 60% of ARPE faculty and Interwork staff are individuals from underrepresented groups, including individuals with disabilities; 97% of the staff of the Interwork Institutes Exceptional Family Resource Center are parents of children with disabilities. 10. Interwork faculty and staff received $10,691,664 in grants and contracts in 2010-11.
