o This project is mainly aimed to implement the SMART CARD & MATLAB technologies at ATM / banks to provide a secured

banking system with face recognition capability.

The purpose of the project is to provide a secured and reliable environment to the customers for their banking transactions by providing a unique identity to every user using the SMART CARD technology and MATLAB based face recognition system.

o Here in this project we are going provide the at most security since it is taking the SMART CARD as the first authentication for your account and then the face image are taken as the second security element. o Here face of the account holder is captured initially and it will be saved with an id number. o So when ever we want to access our account first we will insert the card it will be checked weather it is a VALID or INVALID card. o Then the cam will be activated if the card is a valid one and it will allow you to go for further transactions.

o A smart card is an integrated circuit card . Smart cards are becoming

increasingly more popular for security and personal identification applications.

o Smart cards have one or more microcontrollers embedded in them

which manage access to, and storage of, sensitive data that is actually stored in memory devices.
o The integrated chip is embedded in the smart card and operates to

process specific transactions.

o MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing.

MATLAB is an interactive system whose basic data element is an array that does not require dimensioning.
o MATLAB features a family of application-specific solutions called

toolboxes.Toolboxes allow you to learn and apply specialized technology.
