FOREST PRESERVES AND POCKET PARKS

Greenspace has been preserving and protecting open space in Cambria for almost fifteen years. In that time, nearly $2 million of formerly developable property has been retired from development and set aside for the enjoyment of Cambrias residents and visitors. These properties include Strawberry Canyon, a 16-acre forest preserve with trails and benches, Pocahontas Park, a community organic garden, and Center Street, 1.6-acres of open space located along Santa Rosa Creek in the East Village rich in the history of Cambrias early Chinese population that will be opened to the public in the near future. The continuing maintenance of these forest preserves and pocket parks is funded through endowments attached to the properties, through the purchase of benches or through the name-a-park program. If you have any questions regarding any of these programs, please contact the Greenspace office at 927-2866.
