Q 1 (a) State and explain the importance of the maximum power transfer theorem. Why maximum power transfer criterion is never considered in Power system. And show that efficiency of power transfer is 50 % (b) A sound system is designed to give 100 watts into an 10 speaker . (a) What would be the voltage provided by this amplifier to the speaker ? (b) What power will be delivered to the load , if (i) the load is a short-circuit , (ii) the load is an open circuit ? (c) If different speakers of load resistance 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 , 10 , 16 and 32 are used in the system , calculate the power delivered to the speaker in each case , and draw a curve showing the variation of the output power P0 with load resistance RL. Q 2 (a) State superposition theorem and illustrate its use to solve a network. (b) Using Superposition theorem , find current through 9 resistance shown in fig.1 below

Q3 State and explain Thevenins theorem . By applying Thevenins Theorem find current Ix shown in fig.2

and 4 respectively are connected in parallel across a 5 resistor . Calculate using Superposition theorem (i) Current through each battery (ii) Terminal voltage

Also verify the results by any other method. Q8 . Write short notes on (i) Voltage Divider and Current Divider Rule (iii) Ohms Law (ii) Source Transformation (iv) Kirchoffs Law

Q9 Find current through 10 resistance connected between the terminal A and B by as many method as you know.

Q10 Find out equivalent resistance between the terminal A & D for the figures shown below (i)
