Using the administration pages.
Internet service manager (HTML) is used to remotely perform many of the administrative function. Useful tools for performing emergency maintenance on your ecommerce site. The three administrative tasks that the internet service manager (HTML) cannot perform are:

Install and administer the IIS FTP service.


The most common remote tasks that you need to perform on your ecommerce will be to add or remove contents Eg: directories, web pages and images. This can be done by using file transfer protocol (FTP). By default FTP service is installed on windows 2000. It is not installed on windows NT.

Upload files to your site using FTP


FTP is an invaluable tool for site maintenance specially if you are on the road. Before installing the FTP service adding or updating a products picture requires a physical access to the server but now can be done using a combination of FTP and a catalog maintenance pages.

Advance, web-based catalog maintenance


The remote catalog maintenance is made easier and more secure by using Microsoft posting acceptor. This allows adding or updating all the product attributes including images from a browser page. After moving these files, secure the admin directory by setting a password on the administrative pages.
