The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Rolls-Royce present this remarkable eleven week opportunity at the Sad Business School, University of Oxford that will enable scholars from India to explore innovation and science policy, from an academic, practical and personal perspective. companies and scientists and will bridge pure research and business/scientific entrepreneurship, practical processes of innovation, commercialisation of research and technology transfer. The course is aimed at some of India's brightest scientists, business people and public servants. The ideal candidate should be a mid-career government, science or media professional with leadership potential and experience in any of the following or similar disciplines: research, technology, manufacturing, business development, or business and public administration. Programme Duration: Eleven weeks from 10 April - July 2012 Aims of the programme The aim of the programme is to promote the role of science and innovation as a driver of growth and opportunity forge lasting ties between the UK and Indias future leaders Overall Programme goals An understanding of the UK science base and a range of innovation management processes Awareness of the interactions between research, innovation and policy Skills, tools and personal development to address practical challenges more effectively Experience of the UK and in particular Oxford with its unique educational, cultural and historical environment The beginnings of new networks and connectivity between India and the UK. Programme Content Intensive, high-level, inter-disciplinary study, debates with practitioner, guided/focused study visits and seminars and projects of professionals relevance, involving significant contact with UK specialists. There will be three main modules: Science , Innovation and Policy. Each module will include

lectures, workshops and discussions that focus on relevant ideas, institutions and introduce the group to experts and opinion leaders, together with a significant element of practice, including case studies, visits and projects. A programme of external speakers, visits, project and events will ensure lively variety of engagement with UK institutions throughout, as well as properly diverse pedagogy.
