    Natural Habitats

    Some animals that live in the forest

    Endangered means that only few of their kind are still alive. Extinct means that the species are no longer exist.

    Some animals that live in the desert.

    A desert is a hot and very dry place. Desert animals do not sweat a lot. They have long bodies, tails and ears that enable them to release heat quickly.

    Some animals live in water.

    Protective Adaptations of Animals

    Some animals have claws, hoofs, horns and antlers for self-defense

    Some animals are protected by their coloring and shape appearance

    Some animals give off poison and discrete distasteful substances.

    Some animals attack their enemies in large numbers.
