esus announced that the Kingdom of God is like a pearl of great price. It is incredibly valuable. It is worth immeasurable riches or fame. It is even more valuable than a Nobel prize. As a matter of fact, as Jesus told the story he said that a man sold everything that he had so that he could purchase the pearl. The cost was irrelevant to the man. Possessing the pearl was everything. In other words, possessing the Kingdom of God should be worthy of everything that you own and have and are. What is the Kingdom of God? The Kingdom of God is the rule of God. In the Ancient Near East, the presence of the Kingdom was often associated with the presence of the King. Wherever the King was, the Kingdom was. In other words, the Kingdom of God is present with the past, present, and future presence of Jesus Christ, the King. Jesus is raised from the dead and has poured out his Spirit who lives in his people. If Jesus lives in you, then the Kingdom of God is present in your life as you live in and by and for Jesus. The focus of this RUF conference will be on equipping you for better service in the Kingdom of God. This is a training conference. We want to help you to understand and apply the reality of the Kingdom in your life. Some sessions will be more theological, and others will be more practical. In our training, we will integrate teaching, small group discussion, and personal reection for maximum impact. Let me encourage you, if this is your rst time at a training conference to attend the track on Biblical Discipleship.
