Quadrilateral
Quadrilateral just means "four sides" (quad means four, lateral means side). Any four-sided shape is a Quadrilateral. But the sides have to be straight, and it has to be 2-dimensional.

Definition :
A rectangle is any quadrilateral with 4 right angles. The word rectangle comes from the Latin rectangulus , which is combination of rectus (right) and angulus (angle)

A rectangle with vertices ABCD would be denoted as ABCD

The sides and angles of a rectangle: Opposite sides of a rectangle are the same length (congruent). Opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel The angles of a rectangle are all congruent (the same size and measure). Remember that a 90 degrees angle is called a "right angle." So, a rectangle has four right angles, and they all add up to 360 degrees.

To find the perimeter of a rectangle, just add up all the lengths of the sides: Perimeter = L + w + L + w = 2L + 2w

The area of a rectangle: To find the area of a rectangle, just multiply the length times the width: Area = L x W

Example :
Area = length x width = 65 m x 32 m = 2080 m2 Perimeter = 2 length + 2 width = 2 (65 m) + 2 (32 m) = 130 m + 64 m = 194 m
Perimeter = 3 + 1.5 + 2.2 + 3 + 5.2 + 4.5 = 19.4 m Area of A = 4.5 x 3 = 13.5 m2 Area of B = 3 x 2.2 = 6.6 m2 total Area = 13.5 + 6.6 = 20.1 m2
