A student I feel that we shouldnt be speaking singlish.

However I think that it is quite interesting how we can make up our own form of speaking. Though pretty barbaric perhaps, I think that it is quite effective, towards communicating fast. It does not benefit us during exams or written test as many usually get used to the singlish way of speaking then to typing/writing. Singlish is very unique and only Singaporeans seem to have it more or less, naturally. Singaporeans understand Singaporeans fast with singlish being used and some things are described better with singlish to let the other person understand it clearer, in some sense that I cant really explain. To totally eradicate singlish would be impossible but it should be reduced however. We should all try to speak better English.

A Parent As a parent, I prohibit my children from speaking Singlish as it is not a language whereby everyone in the whole world could communicate with. Some people might even get lost in conversations when someone starts to speak Singlish. However, I think that Singlish is a language where all Singaporeans would usually communicate with one another. Even though Singlish is used everywhere in Singapore I believe we should try our best

to speak in proper language our children have to write and speak in proper English for their exams. For me, I think Singlish should be kept in our country and not to the whole world as it is quite embarrassing for Singaporeans to speak in such manner.
