SHERWOOD MERRYWALKERS MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 2, 2012 The first Merrywalkers meeting of 2012 was held at the BBC

C in Sherwood and called to order by President Jane Leider. Treasurer Mike Uyemura reported a bank balance of $1,108.05, with all bills paid. Lynette Wallers name will be added to the US Bank account to facilitate membership dues transactions. Lynette will also be trained to be Mikes eventual replacement as treasurer. Mike plans to consider sending reminders to walk box monitors for their monthly reports. Members were reminded that 2012 dues need to be paid ($5.00), and that the application form is available on the Merrywalkers website. It has been decided that the club will not be selling shirts with the Merrywalker logo or name. Members/walkers interested in wearing matching tees may wish to purchase purple shirts with floral graphics at Made in Oregon stores for $19.95. These shirts will complement the Whidby Island shirts which many members already wear. Kathy Enders provided some information about a marathon training program for walkers and runners that will meet on January 14th at Sherwood High School. Additional information about WellFit Portlands Marathon Makeover is available online at: http://wellfitportland.com/. Linda Lantz will be assuming responsibility for the Sherwood walk box at the YMCA, effective immediately. Jane asked walk box monitors to add a column to registration forms to indicate which walkers are Merrywalker members. This will help ensure that accurate reports are sent to the AVA each month. Jane and MaryAnn Hawke distributed packets to walk box monitors with updated maps and directions, payment envelopes and 2012 stamp inserts for each walk. Jane also asked monitors to make sure there are no YRE numbers or stamp numbers on 5K walk information since those walks are not sanctioned. Jane expressed thanks to Sandy Reid for her help in updating all walk information. The meeting adjourned at 10:45 am. Submitted by Mary Fribley, Secretary
