    On January 3, 2012 at 11:30 PM, the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at a single family mobile home located at 10041 Lyles Place in Waldorf, Maryland. The owner and occupant, Mr. Lyles, suffered second and third degree burns but was conscious and responsive. The preliminary cause of the fire was accidental, starting in the living room wall near the flue of a wood stove. Total property losses were estimated at $10,000 for the structure and $1,000 for contents.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Tuesday night the Waldorf VFD responded to a house fire on Lyles Place in Waldorf. When they arrived on the scene they found Mr. Lyles' mobile home engulfed in flames, and Mr. Lyles suffering from 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his legs, arms and back. Mr. Lyles was conscious and responsive. He was flown to the Washington Burn Center with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation reveals that the fire started in the wall in the area of the flue to the wood stove. This fire is ruled accidental. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: 443-550-6820
