2011 International Collegiate Quartet Champion
Nick Gordon, Baritone Drew Ochoa, Lead Gordie Howe, Tenor Dave Parrett, Bass

This collegiate quartet from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) narrowly missed out on the gold in 2010, but won with a solid lead in 2011. Their first international collegiate contest was in 2009, where they placed 4th.

The Musical Island Boys made history in 2006 by becoming the first quartet from outside the U.S. to win the International Collegiate Gold Medal. Their debut in quartet competition in 2009 won them a 10th place finish, and theyve moved steadily upward since, placing 4th in 2010 and 2nd in 2011.

Old School has a rich barbershop past, each member having grown up listening to his dad sing barbershop. Their philosophy is to stay true to the musical roots of the hobby they fell in love with. Achieving gold in 2011 meant a record-smashing fourth gold medal for Joe Connelly and placed Kipp Buckner in the elite class of three-time gold medalists.
