Pittsburgh Connections is a program run by Venture
Outdoors at several colleges in the city and is generously
funded by the RK Mellon Foundation, Sustainable
Pittsburgh and American Eagle Outfitters Foundation. The
program strives to engage students in outdoor activities
throughout Western Pennsylvania. The core goals of these
recreational activities are to help students develop and
maintain a physically active lifestyle, build leadership
skills and increase their appreciation for the Western
Pennsylvania region.

Intro to Child Carrier Hike e f
Have you ever wanted to go out for a relaxing hike but
didn’t want to leave your little one at home? Then you and
your little one can join along with others for an outdoor
adventure. This hike is designed for parents who have
small children between 6 months and 5 years old with
child carriers to carry them in or they can trek along with
us. Weather permitting. Pre-registration required.

McConnell’s Mill Hike a Day Trek: Lite e
Come to McConnell’s Mill State Park for one of the more Beginners looking for an easy, rejuvenating experience

After saddling up, we rode our horses halfway up, hiked the
rest of the way, and then went back down to where we left
the horses via a network of zip lines that ran from treetop
to treetop. We were suspended 180 feet above the ground
and hit speeds of 80 mph between trees--what a rush!
