The kids will be bringing home some books to practice oral reading fluency. I have attached a list of tips to the book envelope so that you can help your child. Taking a few minutes at least a couple of times a week to listen to your child read aloud will not only help him/her read more smoothly, it will amaze you at how quickly they progress! It is really important to return the book in the envelope to school the next school day (even if you didnt have a chance to practice the night before). We will be using these books throughout our day and need every one of them! Thank you! Important Happenings...

Did I mention that we have been testing a lot recently? Since we returned from Break we have spent a lot of time individually administering the Journeys Mid-Year Reading Assessment. This week we will finish that test up and give the DIBELS .

Words To Know: What/what You/you are now

It is so important that your child be able to identify the numbers 0-12 by sight almost instantly. We need to be sure that they can count those numbers, write them and create sets of objects. We are working on counting aloud to 20 and beyond. Please take a few minutes each day do practice this skill with your child. Thank you.

We absolutely love our Promethean Board and use it every day, all day long!!!!
