Emily Cassell is a Hip Hop vocalist and full-time mom who has remained an active member of the Colorado underground Hip Hop scene for the past six years growing a loyal fan base with her unique low-pitched vocal sound. Emily is signed under Stylefree Records where she creates music laced with personal life experiences ranging from love for her children to the pain of her childhood. Many of Emilys songs are set to handcrafted beats made by her husband Jerey Cassell, who is often found on stage with Emily. Although Emily writes her own lyrics, her focus remains on singing and sharing her God-given gift with the world. Im a singer who just happens to write my own lyrics Emily Cassell Emily is inspired by powerful female icons in the music industry like Aliyah, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman and Tina Turner. Her fans inspire her to continue breaking through as a female artist in the male dominated world of underground Hip Hop and help spread the message that Hip Hop is much more than guns, hate, hoes and money. Emily has been featured on several demos including a Pieces of 8 demo and several Sweetleaf demos and opened for artists like Awol One, Sunspot Jonez, Blueprint, Sage Francis, and Sole. She has performed at venues across Colorado and Denver like The Aggie Theater, Hodis half note, Mishawaka Inn Amphitheater and Benders. Emily has collaborated with artists across the country from California to New York like Native, EQ, dj deadbeat, G1 the producer and Diverge, Doctor Oscify, APB, Pink Elephants, Mr. B, Eye Cue Frosty Bones and Aklock Although self-taught, Emily has recently begun taking voice lessons and plans to release a debut album. She is always ready and willing to take the stage and eager to perform as much as possible.
