y Illusion: y An illusion is a distortion of the senses, revealing

how the brain normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. While illusions distort reality, they are generally shared by most people.
y Illusions may occur with more of the human senses

than vision, known as optical illusions.


y An illusion describes a misinterpretation of a true

sensation.

Ventriloquism, or ventriloquy, is an act of stagecraft in which a person (a ventriloquist) manipulates his or her voice so that it appears that the voice is coming from elsewhere, usually a puppeteered "dummy".
