Class Reward

Learning requires a “disruptive free” classroom, effort, and pride. All 3 require
everyone’s cooperation. However, I realize this is not an easy task for many of you.
Hence, I have a program that will measure whether a core has achieved this and a
reward program for doing so.

There will be 5 key things I will measure:

• Homework (80% of class completes)

• Room (Neat & orderly)
• Talking ( Raise hand & wait)
• On time (to class)
• In seat (unless given permission to leave)

If 80% of the core completes the homework, leaves the room neat and orderly, and no one
talks in class without raising his/her hand and waiting to be called upon, the core will earn
15 points (5 points for each) for the day. If everyone comes to class on time and “settles in”,
3 more points. Finally, if everyone stays in his/her seat ((unless given permission to leave
by me), 2 more points can be earned.

Therefore, a core could earn 20 points a day. There are 5 days in a week; hence, a core could
earn 100 points a week. A core that earns 85 points in a week can earn 10 min. outside paid off the following
Fri. The core that earns the highest point will win and extra 5 min.

For an example see the chart below for Core X:

BEHAVIOR PTS MON. TUES WEDS. THURS FRI TOTAL

HOMEWORK
(80%) 5 5 0 5 0 5 15

CLEAN ROOM 5 5 5 5 5 5 25

RAISED HAND 5 0 0 5 0 5 10

ON TIME 3 3 3 0 3 0 9

IN SEAT 2 2 2 0 2 2 8

Total: 68

Core X did not make the 85 needed to earn the outside reward.
