It lasted for 20 years. People Power arises after the assassination of Benigno Aquino Jr. (the primary opponent of Marcos.) Thus ending the Martial Law.
The implication caused a series of events one of which is the snap election against the widowed Corazon Cojuanco-Aquino.
There had been many infrastructure projects. The economy was spending more during the Marcos era. DOWNFALL: the country descended into a political and economic crisis in the aftermath of the assassination of Aquino.
The Aquino government had tried many ways to help our country get back on its former glory, but due to the many debts and problems that they had inherited during the Marcos regime that it was impossible to achieve in such a short time and in a distrusting citizen.
Until now the country is still suffering from the effects of Martial Law.
