Imagine this box as ALL OF REALITY. Manipulate, move, and resize the three boxes to represent what you believe (a) IS KNOWN, (b) CAN BE KNOWN, and (c) CAN NEVER BE KNOWN through the location and size of the three boxes relative to the bigger box of REALITY and to one another.

ALL OF REALITY WHAT CAN BE KNOWN

WHAT IS KNOWN

WHAT CAN NEVER BE KNOWN

EPISTEMOLOGY refers to our beliefs about knowing and knowledge. ONTOLOGY refers to our beliefs about reality. Your diagram above should answer the following questions about your beliefs about reality, knowing, and knowledge: (a) Do we know everything? (b) Can we know everything? (c) Will some things never be known? (d) How much do we know, can we know, and can we never know as far as reality is concerned? a) We know very little. b) No, because there are some things we can never know. c) Yes, as we are limited by time, technology and other factors. d) What we know is bigger than what we can never know but much smaller in comparison with what we can still know because the Earth and mankind is still relatively young as compared to the rest of the universe, and there are many things we are uncertain of.
